[Ding-dong! You have a new food delivery order, please check!]

Still half asleep, Gu Xinyan heard a familiar notification sound. Opening her sleepy eyes, she grabbed a bag and staggered toward the store shelves.

She used to work like a slave in a big city, but her parents had died in a car accident, leaving behind only her grandmother, who had gone blind from crying, and her little brother.

With no other choice, she quit her job in the big city and returned to her small hometown, taking on the burden of supporting her family and inheriting the only legacy her parents left her: a two-story shop. She began a leisurely retirement life.

To support her family, she had to open a food delivery platform for the shop. Although the earnings weren’t much, it was something.

There weren’t many delivery riders in the small town, only one or two, so Gu Xinyan wasn’t in a hurry to fill the shelves. She carried the bag, weaving through the shelves, stuffing the customers’ orders into it one by one.

Holding the order slip, Gu Xinyan became increasingly puzzled. She wondered what this customer wanted so many large steamed buns and instant noodles for.

Was she another spendthrift? Was she planning to live on steamed buns and instant noodles for the next two weeks?

Gu Xinyan scratched her head, suppressing her curiosity, and quickly stuffed everything into the bag. She herself used to be a spendthrift.

She would stock up on various breads and instant noodles at the end of the month, but this was the first time she’d seen someone stock up on steamed buns.

Didn’t she even bother to add some pickled vegetables? Could she even swallow steamed buns dry? Gu Xinyan couldn’t help but mutter to herself.

After packing everything, Gu Xinyan returned to the cashier and waited for the delivery driver. She checked the time on her phone and was shocked to find it was already 10 PM.

She quickly logged into the food delivery platform and closed the shop; otherwise, what would she do if more orders came in?

Just then, a flash of white light appeared, and Gu Xinyan, along with the large bag on the table, vanished from her spot.

The next second, Gu Xinyan found herself in ruins. The sky was gloomy, and piles of garbage surrounded her.

A stench assaulted her senses, causing her to instinctively cover her nose. She looked around in disbelief at her surroundings, then at the bag in her hand, completely bewildered.

Wasn’t she supposed to be waiting for the delivery driver inside the store? She was planning to close the store as soon as the driver left, but now…

She pinched her arm hard in disbelief. The pain instantly made her cry out, “Ouch, this is real! I thought I was dreaming. Where am I? Hey! Is anyone there?”
